In a recent issue I read a story about Stan Lee. I never heard of him . . . but I’ve heard of his characters such as Spider-Man, Hulk, Iron Man and more. The article said that Stan Lee = energetic + focused; his repartee brims with the exuberance of a teenager. Wow! How many of us feel like a teenager? Maybe our minds want to go but our bodies don’t always follow or our bodies can move with ease but we are not mentally focused.
I love to read stories about people in their 80s and 90s who are living life large every day. Take a look at Betty White. I read about her everywhere and she is a fire cracker. I hope to have exuberance for life well into my later years. I hope to still be speaking and writing books in my 80s (God willing) and inspiring people.
But we don’t know what our future will bring. We aren’t guaranteed a long life. And so the idea for me is to live my life today like Stan Lee. I’d like to share with you a few excerpts from the article that I hope will guide you this week in the way you look at life and work.
- The minute you sit back to think “I’ve done it all,” you’re through. You might as well be dead.
- Continually recharge your batteries.
- Boredom is my enemy.
