Did you know the spirit craves victory? Keep this in mind when you are facing difficulties or when life isn’t going quite the way you planned it. In speaking with thousands of people over my 22 years of speaking and mostly women, life is always throwing curves at us. Just when you think you have one thing figured out–like maybe your job, then something comes up in your personal life. Or maybe you have a few months of peace and then some big wave of change comes your way. Any of the 5 Pillars can be affected at any time: career, family, financial, spiritual and wellness.
A phrase I have used for years for myself is, “I will be a victor over my circumstances; not a victim.” Of course, this is hard to say when my “spirit” isn’t in the fighting mode but rather I’m feeling hurt or sad for someone I love, such as a sister or father. And so that is when I have to dig down really deep into my “spirit” and give myself a good talk.
It isn’t always the big “stuff” that gets us down. A series of little things can also get to you. So whatever it is for you–whenever it occurs, keep telling yourself, “I choose to be a victor.” That doesn’t mean your circumstance will change or things will work out like you had hoped. It just means you will stand tall and figure out how to live with the situation or work around it.
I wish you a week filled with victory!
