If you are a Gmail User chances are you have already heard about the new Inbox updates. If you haven’t, read on for what to expect and important tips on to customize your own Inbox.
Gmail has rolled out some new features and they are now automatically filtering your email messages for you. Please note that messages from “Joan Burge” and “Office Dynamics” (such as time sensitive updates or weekly Monday Motivators) may also be skipping your Inbox and head straight to the “Promotions” folder.
NOTE: You may not see these changes yet but Google is rolling them out to users over the next few weeks. We’ve already noticed the changes in our office. These changes will be made for all Gmail users in the near future.
You can follow these three easy steps if your Inbox has been changed (or when it does change) to ensure my messages are being sent to your “Inbox.”
1. Under the “Promotions” tab find one of my emails (like Monday Motivators).
2. Click and drag one of my emails from the “Promotions” tab to the “Primary” tab at the top of your messages list.
3. Make sure you click “Yes” when the yellow alert pops up.
If you want to totally turn off the new tabbed Inbox, just click on the Settings “gear” image at the upper right corner of your inbox and select “Settings.” Click the “Inbox” tab and un-check ALL of the categories except “Primary” then save your changes.
Thanks for being a loyal reader! All the best to you and your Inbox.
