is your plate to full

Is Your Plate Too Full?

Hello everyone! Today I’d like to talk to you about “Is Your Plate Too Full?” It’s countdown to Thanksgiving! I love Thanksgiving especially because I get to eat a turkey drumstick (yum), dressing, pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and all the other amazing vegetables and desserts. If you are like me, though, your eyes are bigger than your stomach. Do you load up your plate as you gaze at all the food in front of you with a hungry belly? Do you take second and third helpings? If you are like most people, you realize you ate way too much as you plop yourself down on a chair or couch. Even if you are health conscious and take a walk after dinner, you probably go back to the house and sit.

Sometimes we are like that with our life. We are so eager to fill our schedules, try new things, and take on community projects that it isn’t until months pass that we realize we have too much on our plate. When that happens, we can wear ourselves down, become less patient, burn out, and even become angry at ourselves for committing to too many things. Or maybe you are the one everyone goes to at work and in your family because you are so good hearted and never say no.

Over the next month, I am certain your schedule will be crazy between work, your regular activities, holiday parties and shopping. I would like to warn you to be careful not to overfill your plate. Rather make time to relax, enjoy the holiday season and maybe even pamper yourself.

Many of you will be setting goals for 2016 and thinking about what you want to do with your life. As you work on your goals for 2016, make sure you leave some wiggle room. You never know what opportunities might rise up because you have left some space on your plate.

Before you go, take a moment to share in the comments below. Is your plate too full? How will you approach the holidays differently this season?

Everyone at Office Dynamics wishes you a very Happy Thanksgiving! Thank you so much for your support. We value our relationships with you.
